Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has alleged that key leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are working in cahoots with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He claimed that Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman of the PDP, and Sam Anyanwu, the National Secretary, are undermining the party’s opposition role.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Adeyanju accused Damagum of “serving tea” in the house of Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, while alleging that Anyanwu was “serving Kilishi” in the same residence.
He stated, “The current PDP is in Wike’s pocket at the national level, he installed the current PDP National Chairman who goes to serve tea in Femi Gbajabiamila’s house. While Damagum is serving tea, PDP’s National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu goes to the kitchen to serve Kilishi; they are the people in charge of the PDP.”
Adeyanju further described former Rivers State Governor and current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, along with Damagum and Anyanwu, as “Tinubu’s moles” within the PDP.
“These are Tinubu’s moles, just like Abure in LP who is an APC mole. There is no opposition, that’s why there is nobody challenging the system,” he said.
The activist lamented the state of opposition politics in Nigeria, accusing the PDP of being complicit with the APC.
He alleged that the ruling party has infiltrated opposition structures to ensure dominance in future elections.
“PDP can’t hold its own NEC meeting. Wike, Damagum, and Sam Daddy have hijacked the party. They want to field a candidate given to them by Tinubu in 2027. You know he is a master of crushing opposition; he did it for about 24 years in Lagos,” Adeyanju claimed.
He expressed concern over Tinubu’s influence, citing alleged demolition activities in the FCT and the public’s diminishing trust in institutions and opposition leaders.
