Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team has received a significant boost ahead of their decisive second-leg clash against Ghana in the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Five key players have joined the squad, strengthening the team’s chances of securing a win at home.

These include Samuel Ayanrinde of Shooting Stars, Sunday Megwo from Abia Warriors, Enugu Rangers’ midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, Vincent Temitope from Plateau United, and Badmus Gbadamosi of Kwara United.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede initially travelled with 18 players to Ghana for the first leg, which ended in a tense goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Both sides fought hard for victory but failed to break the deadlock, leaving everything to play for in the return leg.

The Super Eagles B team resumed training on Tuesday in Uyo, intensifying preparations for Saturday’s showdown.

The reverse fixture will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on December 28, where Nigeria will aim to leverage home advantage to advance in the competition.
