President Bola Tinubu departed Nigeria’s capital to participate in the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates.

The summit, scheduled from January 12 to 18, is being held at the invitation of UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the event aims to advance global sustainable development and foster socioeconomic progress.

Themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the summit will bring together world leaders, policymakers, business executives, and civil society to discuss pathways for transitioning to a sustainable economy. It will also explore innovative strategies to promote inclusive prosperity globally.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week has, for over 15 years, served as a global platform to drive collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges and accelerating sustainable growth,” Onanuga stated.

President Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to international cooperation on sustainability and economic transformation.

The president is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
