Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has declared his support for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, if he decides to contest for Lagos State governor in 2027.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, VeryDarkMan explained his reasons, highlighting the need for younger generations to take charge of Nigeria’s political landscape.
“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship…I’m going to campaign for him. I don’t do politics but I’ll do politics because of Seyi Tinubu,” he stated.
The 39-year-old Seyi, who will turn 42 in 2027, could potentially become the youngest governor in Lagos State’s history.
VeryDarkMan argued that Seyi represents a “bridge” to achieving a political revolution that could transform the country.
“Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to get something that I want, something that I believe will make Nigeria work,” he added.
According to him, Seyi plays his father’s strategic style of politics, positioning individuals in key roles to advance his vision.
VeryDarkMan speculated that Seyi already has a network of loyalists, primarily younger individuals, in advantageous positions to support his ambitions.
He further suggested that if Seyi becomes governor, he might foster a new generation of leaders across various states.
However, he predicted that this could eventually lead to young people rebelling against Seyi, which, in his view, could result in positive change for the nation.
While neither Seyi nor President Tinubu has publicly addressed the possibility of a governorship bid, various groups have already endorsed Seyi for the role, stirring conversations about the potential for a youth-led shift in Nigerian politics.
