
Emeka Ugwuonye, the legal counsel of May Edochie has taken to social media to give an update on the divorce proceeding between his client and her estranged husband and actor, Yul Edochie.
In a statement released on his Facebook page, Ugwuonye stated that the case was up for hearing on Tuesday, February 4. He mentioned that the court was expecting to get feedback from the Compulsory conference mandated for both parties to carry out.
He explained that a Compulsory Conference or mandatory conference is part of the family law procedure under Nigerian law. where a husband and wife seeking to get a divorce are directed by the court to meet alongside their lawyers so they can try to reach an agreement on some if not all, the disputed issues before the court.
He said both parties informed the court that they were still deliberating and so the matter was adjourned till March.
