National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has dismissed allegations that he accused President Bola Tinubu, then Lagos State governor, of corruption during his tenure as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ribadu’s response comes after Hajia Naja’atu Muhammad, leader of Northern Star, claimed in a viral TikTok video that he had condemned Tinubu but is now serving in his administration.
Describing the allegation as malicious, Ribadu demanded a public apology and retraction within seven days.
Through his lawyer, Dr. Ahmed Raji, SAN, Ribadu stated, “Privately or publicly, our client has never expressed the above viewpoint about President Tinubu and/or Senators George Akume and Orji Uzor Kalu, which you attributed to him.”
He further challenged Muhammad to provide evidence of her claims, arguing that the false accusations had tarnished his reputation and could incite violence against him.
Ribadu’s legal team accused Muhammad of using the allegations to mislead the public and warned that failure to retract the statements in at least five national newspapers within seven days would lead to a lawsuit for exemplary damages.
