Canadian authorities are searching for Chukwuka Emmanuel Williams, a 30-year-old Nigerian national, who allegedly scammed11 victims out of $275,000 through a romance scam.
Williams posed as a military officer stationed overseas, deceiving victims from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec into sending him money with false promises of repayment.
The scam took place between June 2020 and September 2021.
Williams failed to appear in court on January 27 and is now wanted for 23 offences, including 10 counts of fraud over $5,000.
The Peel Regional Police Fraud Bureau believes there may be more victims and urges anyone with information to come forward.
