Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly held talks to explore a move for Ademola Lookman, with Atalanta seeking €60-65 million for the Nigerian attacker.
According to Caught Offside, Ademola continued to attract massive interest from Premier League sides, as Arsenal and Liverpool have reported holding talks to explore a move. Atalanta are seeking at least €60-65 million for the Nigerian attacker, who might be tempted to return to England.
Ademola Lookman began his career at Charlton but has since played for at least two Premier League clubs, Everton and Fulham. While both of those spells were disappointing, he was nowhere new to the standards set at Atalanta, where he became a major star for the Bergamo club.
The 27-year-old played a massive role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph last season, as he scored a hattrick in the Final against Bayer Leverkusen. The Bergamo side have stayed adamant about keeping the Nigerian on their side, although they might be open to selling him for a fee of €60-65 million.
Some top-draw Premier League clubs are keen, as Lookman had previously indicated he was open to the idea of playing in England. Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly in the mix, as the English giants have reportedly held talks about bringing the 27-year-old back to the country.
Both sides are looking to strengthen the left-wing position, with Arsenal already showing an interest in Lookman as they view him as a potential option. They have also considered some big names like Rodrygo Goes and Nico Williams, as there are challenges in landing either of the La Liga attackers. Lookman could be seen as a viable option despite his €60-65 million asking price.
Lookman certainly adds value should he come to either Arsenal or Liverpool, given how their respective options on the left wing have shown inconsistency this season. The Gunners may look for an alternative option to one of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, while Liverpool view Lookman as a potential replacement for Luis Diaz.
