
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to quality education with the commissioning of the remodeled Okrika Grammar School in Okrika LGA
Speaking at the event on March 13, 2025, Governor Fubara said the project aligns with his administration’s vision to improve education, healthcare, and agriculture.
He emphasized that quality public education helps reduce crime and urged alumni to contribute to the school’s development.
The remodel includes new classrooms, laboratories, an ICT center, a library, hostels, staff quarters, and solar-powered streetlights.
The State Education Commissioner Dr. Ovy Chukwuma commended the governor for prioritizing education.
Community leaders, including Bishop Enoch Atuboyediya and Old Boys Association President Engr. Golden Iruayenama, praised the governor’s efforts and requested further support, including a mini stadium and an ICT center for JAMB examinations.
Governor Fubara assured continued investment in education to provide Rivers State students with a world-class learning environment.
