President Bola Tinubu will commemorate his 73rd birthday on Friday, March 29, with a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja.
The event, which falls within the holy month of Ramadan, also comes just two months before his administration marks its second anniversary.
In a statement on Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), said the prayers would serve as an occasion for Tinubu to express gratitude for divine guidance in his leadership journey.
According to the statement, the decision to hold a prayer session underscores the President’s commitment to spiritual reflection and national well-being.
“Choosing a prayer session reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to Nigeria’s spiritual and moral well-being and his commitment to seeking divine guidance, insight, and strength in leadership. He believes collective prayer is a powerful tool for guiding the nation towards progress and harmony,” it read.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians to join the prayers in spirit, whether at their places of worship or elsewhere, as a symbol of unity and shared destiny.
Reflecting on his journey, the President expressed profound gratitude to Allah and the Nigerian people for their support.
“I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation. As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with Renewed Hope for Nigeria. I urge all citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for our land. Together, we shall overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives,” Tinubu said.
The statement further noted his administration’s commitment to consolidating democratic gains, strengthening national security, and driving economic recovery.
“The President reaffirms his commitment to advancing economic reforms, strengthening national security, and expanding opportunities for all citizens,” it added.
As Tinubu’s government nears its two-year milestone, the prayers serve as a reaffirmation of his belief in divine intervention as a foundation for national progress and unity.
