Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has claimed that the rift between the suspended state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, revolves around money sharing.

Speaking in an interview with DW on Saturday, Amaechi argued that the conflict had no ideological basis but was purely financial.

“The fight between the current governor of Rivers State and the FCT minister is about sharing money. If not, what is the quarrel? Nigerians don’t dislike corruption again. I’ve not seen anybody on the street querying what the problem is. Can both of them speak to the public and tell us what the problem is about?” he stated.

Amaechi also criticised President Bola Tinubu’s emergency rule in Rivers State, calling it unconstitutional.
