Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has revealed that he sold a Rolls-Royce gifted to him more than two decades ago to raise funds for his church’s mission work. In a video shared by Church Gist on YouTube, the respected cleric reflected on his long-standing relationship with the Papa family, a group of dedicated church members whose generosity has significantly impacted his life.

According to Pastor Adeboye, the Papa family’s kindness began with a simple gesture — providing carpeting for his home when it was still a bare concrete floor. Over time, their support grew, culminating in a brand-new Mercedes-Benz given to him as a New Year’s gift. The family also played a key role in ensuring his well-being, sponsoring vacations to allow him much-needed rest.

However, the most extravagant gesture came 23 years ago, when the Papa family gifted him a Rolls-Royce. Despite the luxury of the car, Pastor Adeboye explained that he sold it after just three years of use, prioritizing the needs of the church over personal indulgence. He stated that the proceeds from the sale went towards supporting the church’s mission.

This act further reinforces Pastor Adeboye’s well-known values of humility and selflessness. His decision to part with such an extravagant gift highlights his focus on using resources for the greater good and his unwavering commitment to serving others rather than seeking personal luxury.

As the leader of one of the world’s largest Christian congregations, Pastor Adeboye continues to exemplify faith, generosity, and service, encouraging others to follow in his footsteps.
