Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Galatasaray at the end of his loan spell, but a move to Manchester United is far from guaranteed.
Romano confirmed that Osimhen will return to Napoli, who are determined to sell him early in the summer transfer window.
Napoli are hoping to avoid another long-running transfer saga like last summer when Osimhen’s move dragged into September.
The expectation is for Victor Osimhen to leave Galatasaray for sure, he’s going back to Napoli from the loan deal. The indication I am getting is Napoli want to sell the player as soon as possible,” Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“Forget Osimhen saga end of July, end of August as we had last summer. Osimhen was moving in September last summer, Napoli don’t want to enter the same situation, so it’s closed at 75 million euros but Napoli are open to finding a different solution, even before, as soon as possible.
“In June, that’s the ideal scenario for Napoli for Osimhen, Napoli will sell Osimhen, he will not stay at Napoli and Osimhen will not continue at Galatasaray.”
Osimhen has made a splash since landing in Turkey, notching 28 goals and five assists in thirty-two appearances across all competitions, putting himself in the shop window ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
Premier League clubs not limited to Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation of the former African Footballer of the Year, who has a release clause of 75 million euros in his Napoli contract.
“There are several options in England, we know English clubs are interested. For Manchester United, interest is still there but still not something guaranteed for Manchester United because of the salary, expensive package, and they have several options.
Manchester United will sign a striker but Osimhen at the moment is not something guaranteed. There are more options around the world, also from Saudi,” Romano added.
Romano concluded by saying that Saudi club Al-Ahli nearly signed Osimhen last summer, but Napoli pulled the plug at the last minute.
