Joy Mojisola Raimi, the reigning Miss Osun, has emerged as the new Miss World Nigeria 2025, following a keenly contested pageant held on Friday night at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Raimi outshone 36 other contestants from across the country to clinch the prestigious crown at the grand finale of the national beauty competition. The event featured dazzling showcases of fashion, culture, and poise, as the contestants paraded in traditional attire, evening wear, and sports-themed outfits.

After the initial stages, the competition was narrowed down to the top 20, with standout performances from contestants such as Oluwatoyin Ibitoye (Miss Kogi), Shelly Usman (Miss Imo), and Mmesoma Anosike (Miss Adamawa). Raimi ultimately triumphed in the final five, facing tough competition from representatives of Imo, Ebonyi, Abuja, and Abia.

In a moving response to a question on overcoming adversity, Raimi opened up about her difficult childhood and the emotional scars of bullying.

I lost my mother at a young age and was raised by a caregiver who often reminded me I would never succeed. But here I am, standing tall on this platform, a living proof that no one can stop what God has destined,” she shared with emotion.

Her inspiring story and composed delivery won the admiration of the judges and the crowd alike.

The new queen was crowned by Guy Murray-Bruce, Chief Operating Officer of the Silverbird Group, who applauded her grace, courage, and commitment to social advocacy.

As Miss World Nigeria 2025, Raimi will now prepare to represent the country at the 72nd Miss World competition in Hyderabad, India, where she will compete against contestants from 140 countries between May 7 and 31.
