Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, as speculation grows around Vinicius Junior’s possible exit to Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen, 26, has been in superb form during a loan spell at Galatasaray this season, netting 28 goals and supplying five assists in 32 matches across all competitions.

The Nigerian is due to return to Napoli at the end of the campaign, but his long-term future lies elsewhere, with several top clubs circling for his signature.

According to reports from Fichajes, Real Madrid view Osimhen as a potential replacement for Vinicius, who has again impressed with 19 goals and 13 assists in 42 appearances this term.

The Brazilian remains a key figure at the Bernabéu, but Real could be tempted to cash in amid rumours of a staggering €300m (£255m) offer from the Saudi Pro League. Vinicius is reportedly being courted with a five-year deal worth €200m (£170m) per season.

Osimhen, who fired Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades and was named 2023 African Footballer of the Year, has scored 76 goals and contributed 12 assists in 133 appearances for the Italian side since joining from Lille in 2020.

Despite Real Madrid’s interest, Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea remain keen on Osimhen, who is the first African to finish as the Italian Serie A top goalscorer.

Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has reportedly held talks in London with both clubs regarding a possible transfer. Chelsea failed with a summer bid but are expected to return, while United are likely to sell before they can buy.

Juventus are also pushing to sign Osimhen, though Napoli would prefer not to sell within Serie A. PSG have likewise expressed interest. His €75m (£62m) release clause adds a sense of urgency to proceedings.

Should Osimhen move to Madrid, it is believed Kylian Mbappé — who has featured as a centre-forward for Los Blancos all season — would occupy the left flank, leaving Osimhen to lead the line.

Trading Vinicius for Osimhen would represent a bold decision by Real Madrid, but the Nigerian’s elite goal-scoring pedigree makes him a compelling target.
