A Toyota Hilux belonging to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, was stolen during Juma’at prayers in Abuja on Friday, in what could be seen as brazen daylight theft.
The incident, according to reports, occurred around 1:05 p.m. when the vehicle was parked opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10, while the official attended prayers at a nearby mosque.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the incident via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the ONSA official returned from the mosque only to discover the Hilux missing.
The theft was promptly reported to the Garki Police Division around 2:00 p.m., triggering an immediate police response.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has since launched a full-scale search operation. Officers have intensified stop-and-search checks across checkpoints and all entry and exit points within the capital.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured that every effort is being made to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen vehicle.
