British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua recently paid a surprise visit to Nigerian singer Peter Okoye (also known as Mr. P) and his family at their home. The visit brought immense joy to the household, especially to Peter’s wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, who is an avid fan of Joshua. She shared her excitement on Instagram, posting photos of the visit and expressing her gratitude:

This visit is part of Joshua’s broader engagement with his Nigerian roots. During his trip, he also visited his hometown in Sagamu, Ogun State, where he was warmly received by the local community. In a display of cultural respect, Joshua prostrated to greet Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun during a courtesy visit, embracing Yoruba traditions. Additionally, he met with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, presenting him with an autographed boxing glove as a gesture of respect .​

Joshua’s visits underscore his deep connection to Nigeria and his appreciation for its culture and people.
