In a dramatic turn of events, kidnappers have seized two individuals who reportedly took N5m ransom and food items to them for the release of Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward chairman in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was reported that Adepoyigi was kidnapped on Monday night around 10 p.m. while attempting to park his car at his residence in Ifon.

He was reportedly beaten and before being dragged away by his abductors.

The kidnappers, who had earlier demanded N100m ransom and later reduced it to N5 million alongside food supplies, have now made a fresh demand of N30 million to secure the release of Adepoyigi and the two ransom bearers identified as Bayode Loco and Isimeri.

The latest incident has thrown the family and political associates of the abducted party chieftain into fresh panic.

Chairman of Ose Local Government Area, Hon. Kolapo Oja, confirmed the earlier negotiation in an earlier interview, saying the ransom had been reduced to N5 million and food items.

However, he expressed concern over the turn of events and appealed for calm while security efforts are intensified.
