Former senator Dino Melaye and veteran entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, have engaged in a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter) over Melaye’s flamboyant lifestyle.

The spat began on May 13, when Melaye, known for his lavish displays on social media, declared in a video that “there’s no one else like me. I’m limited edition.”

Charly Boy responded by hinting that the former Kogi west senator might be struggling emotionally despite his wealth, stating that “not all mental illnesses are noticeable.”

In a sharp retort, Melaye dismissed Charly Boy’s comments as a “desperate bid for relevance” and took a personal swipe, claiming the singer’s “destiny has been thrown inside a freezer.”

“Who is Charly Boy? Is it the name of a noun, animal, place, or thing? Which kind Charly Boy,” Melaye said, adding, “… I heard he has a leaking roof but no money to fix it. He parks a big bike in front of his house like a statue and doesn’t see that as a show-off. He just wants to use my name to gain popularity because his destiny has been thrown inside a freezer.”

The exchange has sparked mixed reactions online, with both men known for their outspoken personalities.
