Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Friday warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of an impending crisis fueled by frustrated Nigerian youths if their needs are not urgently addressed.

According to a statement issued by his spokesman, Oluwatosin Osho on Thursday, Primate Ayodele revealed that the youths are planning “something heavy” against the current administration in the form of protests driven by their ongoing frustrations with the economy and governance.

He urged the president to create employment and empowerment opportunities for youths across Nigeria before May 2026, warning that failure to do so could destabilize the government.

The youths are planning a surge against Tinubu’s government, they want to protest against the economy, election, and some other things frustrating them. I want the president to make a strong move on the youth matter so it won’t cause his government problems,” the prophet said.

Primate Ayodele emphasized the importance of engaging the youth minister to reach out to youths nationwide, especially those at the grassroots level.

“You have a very talented youth minister who listens to advice and knows how to get to the youth. Utilize him adequately for this purpose,” he added.

The prophet cautioned against focusing only on the affluent youths in places like Lekki and Ikoyi, pointing out that the grassroots youths are the key voting demographic.

“Don’t take the youths for granted… We are not talking about Lekki, Ikoyi, Island youths, I mean youths from the grassroots, they don’t have to be famous, we are not talking about internet youths,” he explained.
