In a glittering grand finale that captivated audiences around the world, Thailand’s Opal Suchata was crowned Miss World 2025 on Saturday night, bringing the month-long pageant in India to a spectacular close.

Held in the vibrant city of Telangana, the 72nd edition of the prestigious global beauty pageant welcomed 108 contestants from various countries, showcasing not just beauty, but a commitment to humanitarian service and cultural exchange.

The competition unfolded through a series of elimination rounds, including signature fast-track events like Top Model, Beauty With a Purpose, Multimedia, and Talent, giving participants multiple paths to the coveted crown.

Following intensive interviews, 40 contestants advanced to the quarterfinals—grouped by continent. Among the standouts was Nigeria’s Joy Mojisola Raimi, who reached the Top 20, further cementing Africa’s growing influence on the global stage.

The final showdown featured eight exceptional women, including continental queens representing Asia & Oceania (Thailand), Africa (Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje), Europe (Poland’s Maja Klajda), and the Caribbean (Martinique’s Aurélie Joachim).

In the decisive round, the finalists faced questions from the judging panel, designed to test their intellect, poise, and passion for public service. Their answers—focused on leadership, compassion, and vision—were crucial in determining the winner.

At the end of the evening, Opal Suchata was crowned Miss World 2025, sparking cheers from the crowd and emotional celebrations from Team Thailand. Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje claimed the first runner-up spot, making a powerful statement for the African continent. Poland and Martinique rounded out the top four.

In her first remarks, Opal delivered an empowering message: “This moment is not just a personal victory, it is a shared dream of every young girl who wants to be seen, heard, and create change.”
