Kano State Government has announced the commencement of Eid-el-Kabir break for all public and private schools across the state.

In a statement by Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru on Monday, disclosed that the holiday will start on Wednesday.

Abdullahi Kiru noted that boarding students are to proceed on break from June 4, 2025 and are expected to resume on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

He added that day students will return on Monday, June 16, 2025.

The state government also urged parents and guardians of boarding students to pick up their children by the early hours of Wednesday, to enable them spend the holiday with their families.

The statement further clarified that Eid holiday does not alter the 2024/2025 academic calendar, noting that all other scheduled public holidays and school activities remain unchanged.

Kano government appealed to parents and guardians to ensure their children return to school promptly after the holiday to avoid disruption to academic activities.

The statement partly reads: “All parents and guardians are kindly requested to ensure they pick up their children from boarding schools early on the scheduled date.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the usual support and cooperation given to the ministry by the good people of the state and also wish the students and pupils a successful Sallah break.”
