Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has thrown his full weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, declaring that the people of Gombe would follow him “to the battlefield blindfolded.”

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of an 184-hectare Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone in the state, Yahaya commended Tinubu’s administration for initiating policies that are driving development and economic transformation nationwide.

The governor noted that the livestock sector, long neglected despite being predominantly Northern, has witnessed a tremendous growth since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

He said the president’s strategic investment in the livestock value chain is targeted at job creation, economic empowerment, and improved living standards.

He revealed that the industrial zone project in Gombe is being supported with ₦120 billion from the Federal Government, with 50 percent of the funds already released.

“I assure the President that for what he has done, is doing, and will do, Gombe people will follow him to the battlefield blindfolded. We will work for his success in 2027. By God’s grace, his re-election is assured,” Yahaya said.

He also praised Tinubu’s political will and compassion, contrasting it with the lack of meaningful investment in the livestock sector by Northern leaders during their cumulative 47 years in power.

“If not for a President who loves his people and has the capacity and will, this transformation would not have happened.

No Northern leader in 47 years of power considered investing ₦120 billion to transform the livestock sector, despite it being a predominantly Northern industry,” he added.

Governor Yahaya further assured Nigerians that the temporary challenges brought about by ongoing reforms will soon give way to lasting benefits under Tinubu’s leadership.
