The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has praised the rapid transformation of Ebonyi State, describing it as the fastest-growing state in the Southeast and one that now rivals Abuja in infrastructure.
Speaking during a night adoration service to mark Governor Francis Nwifuru’s second year in office, Mbaka revealed he had prophesied the governor’s rise to power long before it happened, while Nwifuru was still Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
“This man, I knew him before he became a governor. If he will tell you the truth, he never dreamt of becoming a governor,” Mbaka said. “When I saw him, I told him that he will be governor. He’s here.”
Mbaka described the governor as a humble man of faith, a “child of favour and mercy” who rose from being a bus conductor and bricklayer to lead Ebonyi State, thanks to divine grace. According to him, Ebonyi has become a beacon of excellence and dignity, a far cry from its marginalised past under old Anambra State.
He added that if anyone unfamiliar with the state’s recent development were blindfolded and brought to Ebonyi, they would think they were in Abuja.
Comparing the new Government House in Abakaliki to Aso Rock, he said, “It’s something to praise God about.”
Mbaka also condemned those who fail to recognize the role of divine favour in leadership, insisting, “You can imagine a bricklayer becoming a governor. How? With God, all this is possible.”
Governor Nwifuru, in his remarks, confirmed the priest’s prophecy, saying it came to pass exactly as revealed. He also shared a personal testimony of divine healing he received at Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry during his time as Speaker, after doctors in India failed to diagnose a mysterious illness despite 600 laboratory tests.
“It was Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry that I visited, and I stayed from evening till daybreak. I received instant healing. Since then, I’ve never experienced the symptoms again,” Nwifuru testified.
Fr. Mbaka ended the programme with prayers for the state’s continued progress, prosperity, and divine protection.
