Former Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has advised Victor Osimhen against returning to Napoli, urging the striker to consider a move to the Premier League instead.

Osimhen who scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances for Galatasaray last season, is one of the most sought-after players in this summer’s transfer window.

Speaking to Footy Africa, Onazi said he believes Arsenal would be the ideal destination for the Nigerian forward.
“I would not want Osimhen to return to Napoli,” Onazi said. “Hopefully, he gets a move away from the club and joins another team in Italy or, preferably, in England.”

Onazi revealed he once advised Osimhen that after guiding Napoli to a historic Serie A title—matching a feat last achieved under Diego Maradona—it was the right time to leave.
“I told him that he had already done what Maradona did by leading Napoli to the Italian title, and the fans will never forget that. But if anything goes wrong, they might not remember all he’s achieved,” Onazi added.

“If I were to pick a club for him, I would say Arsenal. They need a striker, they can play to his strengths, and he will succeed with them.”
