Renowned Nollywood actor Fatai Odua, famously known as Lalude, has publicly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly abandoning him and fellow entertainers after their support during the 2023 general elections.

In a candid interview circulating widely on social media, the veteran Yoruba actor expressed bitter disappointment, revealing that despite dedicating weeks to campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, he was left unrewarded.

We spent almost two months campaigning with everything we had — our time, our name, our strength. After all that, we didn’t receive even a kobo,” Lalude lamented. “If I were to place a curse on those responsible, it would follow them for the rest of their lives.”

The actor specifically called out Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, accusing him of making unfulfilled promises. According to Lalude, MC Oluomo personally mobilized the entertainers and assured him and fellow actor Alapini that their efforts would be recognized and rewarded.

He gathered us together and asked us to name anything we wanted. We told him what we needed, and he agreed. But after the election, nothing came. We were completely ignored,” he said.

Lalude expressed deep emotional pain over what he described as betrayal and neglect, saying their commitment “was with sweat,” yet they were treated as expendable once the party emerged victorious.

He concluded with a scathing condemnation of those he believes deliberately blocked their access to promised benefits: “Anyone who stood in the way of us receiving what we deserved — may they be cursed for life.”

As of press time, neither MC Oluomo nor APC officials have responded to Lalude’s claims.
