Ajetsibo Emami, younger brother of Delta APC chieftain and close Tinubu associate Ayiri Emami, has been arrested for drug trafficking by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Lagos.

NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, announced the arrest in a statement released on Sunday.

According to him, the suspect,  popularly known as “Warri Kinsman,” was apprehended in Ikeja on June 28 after a targeted three-day operation that also led to the arrest of three other members of his drug network.

“A notorious drug kingpin, Ajetsibo Emami, popularly known as ‘Warri Kinsman,’ was on Saturday 28th June arrested in Ikeja Lagos after NDLEA operatives dismantled his drug trafficking network in a three-day operation leading to the arrest of three other suspects,” Babafemi stated.

He revealed that the NDLEA recovered 24 jumbo bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 414.2 kilograms.

“The bust of Emami’s drug ring followed credible intelligence on his attempt to move the shipment to Lekki area of Lagos, from where it will be distributed to other parts of the state and across the country,” Babafemi added.

The NDLEA also shared a mugshot of Emami alongside photos of the seized drugs.

His arrest came just a day after Sahara Reporters published a report alleging that there were attempts to suppress the story due to his influential family ties.

Social media erupted after a viral photo surfaced showing Ajetsibo with his elder brother Ayiri Emami and President Tinubu.

Back in April, President Tinubu had publicly celebrated Ayiri Emami on his birthday, further highlighting their political closeness.
