Veteran Nigerian musician, Baba Fryo, has weighed in on the separation between music legend Innocent Idibia (popularly known as 2Baba) and his ex-wife, Nollywood actress Annie Idibia.
Baba Fryo stated that their failure to manage the pressures of the entertainment industry contributed to their breakup.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Baba Fryo attributed the collapse of the once-admired celebrity marriage to both individuals being immersed in the entertainment world.
According to him, relationships between entertainers often face instability when not carefully managed.
2Face and his ex-wife didn’t manage themselves well. They are both entertainers,” he said. “In marriage, the woman is supposed to provide balance. But if the man drinks and the woman also drinks, who will watch over the other? Who will take who home?”
Baba Fryo explained that when both partners engage in similar vices without checks and balances, it often breeds insecurity, and can push one partner to seek comfort in someone else with a different approach.
The singer also revealed a surprising personal connection to 2Baba’s current partner, Natasha, whom he claims to have known since her childhood. “I carried Natasha when she was three,” he said, adding that even though he’s not endorsing infidelity, men may feel drawn to women who offer a contrast to what they’re experiencing at home.
