Supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the banner of the South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) have pledged ₦200 million to purchase his presidential nomination form and cover other campaign logistics ahead of the 2027 general election.
The announcement was made by the National Coordinator of SERHA, Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, during the inauguration and empowerment programme of the Imo State chapter of the group held over the weekend in Owerri.
Reaffirming the group’s commitment to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Enwere described the president as a “performing leader” and declared that grassroots mobilisation across the South-East had already begun in earnest.
“As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are tasked with working tirelessly towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Today, we present a cheque of N200 million for the purchase of the presidential nomination form and associated logistics,” he said.
Enwere outlined major federal projects already underway in the region, including the recently approved \$3 billion Eastern Rail Line project, which he described as the most significant infrastructure investment in South-East history.
He said the initiative would enhance trade, reduce transportation costs, and address long-standing complaints of marginalisation.
He also commended the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which he said would focus on regional road infrastructure, erosion control, and economic development.
Enwere paid tribute to iconic leaders from Imo State like the late Sam Mbakwe and Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, while praising Governor Hope Uzodinma for the impact of his 3R development agenda in the state.
The event marked the final stop in SERHA’s zonal tour and included the distribution of empowerment tools such as motorcycles, mini buses, hairdressing kits, sewing machines, and cash to residents as part of their drive for grassroots self-reliance.
Enwere revealed that beginning in August, the group will tour all 95 local government areas and 2,344 wards across the five South-East states to consolidate support for Tinubu.
“This is the turn of Southern Nigeria to complete our eight years. The people of the South-East will not back down to ensure Tinubu’s victory in 2027,” he declared.
