Michael Ikuedowoni, 25, lost his life after his girlfriend, Augustina Mowari, allegedly stabbed him following a dispute over infidelity.
The tr+gic incident occurred over the weekend in Okitipupa Local Council of Ondo State when the lady allegedly used a pair of scissors on Michael during a heated argument in their shared apartment.
According to sources, the two lovers had been engaged in heated arguments over trust issues that ultimately led to the f+tal altercation.
A close friend of the deceased, who pleaded anonymity, stated that the recurring dispute escalated after Mowari accused Ikuedowoni of sl++ping with other women.
The source explained, “Both of them were struggling with f+delity issues. That day, Mowari accused Ikuedowoni of unfaithfulness, which ang£red him and led to a heated argument. In the heat of the moment, Mowari grabbed a pair of sc+ssors and st+bbed him in the leg.”
Ikuedowoni was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was initially treated and later discharged. However, his condition worsened shortly after.
The source added: “His leg became swollen, and he was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night. Despite the doctors’ efforts to save him, he passed away.”
Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson in the state, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the suspect had been arrested and was in custody.
He said, “There was an argument between the two, which led to the suspect st+bbing the victim with sc+ssors. He later d+ed in the hospital. The suspect is in our custody, and the case will be charged to court after investigation.”
