Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has decried the lack of office accommodation for her role in the ministry, revealing that she currently has no dedicated workspace.

Speaking on Thursday, Onyejeocha disclosed that the temporary office she was using had already been allocated to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation.

“This is Ministry of Labour and Employment, and right now, even the Minister of State doesn’t have an office. The place I am staying currently, the Permanent Secretary of Aviation has been allocated that place. Where do I go to?” she lamented.

The former lawmaker explained that although arrangements were made for her to move to the 7th floor of the ministry’s building, the offices under construction are incomplete and may not be ready for use anytime soon.

She stressed the urgent need to complete the ongoing renovation of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) building, which she described as the only hope for officials currently without office spaces.

“I believe we must put all our energy in finishing the NDE building with the speed of light, so that those who do not have an office will just come in here and be able to do their work,” she said.
