The Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, says the August monthly sanitation exercise will now hold on Saturday, September 6th, 2025.Chairman of the RIWAMA Management Board, Samuel Nwanosike, told correspondent Emeka Otuka that the exercise was shifted because of the August 30th local government election in the state.Mr. Nwanosike also expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance to the agency’s directives on the ban on dumping refuse on road medians and the bagging of waste.
He added that to promote a healthy and clean environment, RIWAMA will undertake cleaning exercises in any business premises or compound found dirty, with the cost charged to the owners.
