Ten victims of Jeffrey Epstein are set to speak publicly for the first time at a press conference on Wednesday, joined by Republican Congressman Thomas Massie and Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna.

The press conference will take place on the steps of the US Capitol and is anticipated to be “explosive,” with several of the survivors sharing their stories after years of silence. Both Khanna and Massie are spearheading bipartisan legislation that demands the Justice Department release files related to Epstein’s crimes, aiming to deliver transparency and closure for the victims.

The lawmakers believe that the victims’ testimonies will increase public outrage and pressure Congress to act on the bill forcing the government to disclose all records linked to Epstein’s abuse and associated powerful figures. “This is about delivering justice for victims of powerful men who exploited underage girls,” Rep. Khanna said. They need 218 signatures to 212 Democrats and at least six Republicans to advance their measure in the House.
Broader Impact

The event follows months of criticism over the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein case, compounded by demands for accountability in the wake of controversial decisions to close further investigations. The House Oversight Committee is also conducting a parallel inquiry, with some survivors meeting privately with lawmakers the day before the public event.

Victims, their advocates, and supporters hope the press conference and legislative push will finally bring answers, accountability, and closure long denied
