Super Eagles talisman, Victor Osimhen, has expressed his happiness following his permanent return to Turkish giants Galatasaray, and says he is committed to the club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 26-year-old, who initially joined the Rams Park outfit on loan from Italian Serie A side Napoli last season, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 games across all competitions, helped the red and gold to win the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup. He also emerged the league’s top scorer at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite mouthwatering offers from Saudi Pro League heavyweights, Al Hilal, Osimhen turned his loan spell into a permanent one, after Galatasaray agreed to pay his €75m transfer fee. He has since begun repaying the club’s faith, by scoring in two of Galatasaray’s opening three Super Lig matches this term.

The former Wolfsburg and Lille striker admits he had several juicy offers, but remains committed to Galatasaray. He told the club’s website, “I have had big offers from some clubs. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested, but I’m happy to be at Galatasaray.”

“I already knew in my heart where I wanted to be. They valued me here…there is a really different understanding within the club,” he concluded.

Osimhen is currently with the Nigerian national team, as they prepare for their crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Rwanda and South Africa in Uyo and Bloemfontein respectively. His inputs will be vital if manager Eric Chelle’s side aim to revive their slim hopes of reaching next summer’s tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
