Ex-Astronomer HR exec Kristin Cabot’s husband, Andrew Cabot, says the two were already separated before she was caught canoodling with former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert in July.
Andrew, from whom Kristin filed for divorce last month, shared in a shocking new statement Monday that he and Kristin were “separated” before the embarrassing moment between Kristin and Byron broke the internet.
Andrew and Kristin “were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert,” a spokesperson for Andrew, who is the CEO of Privateer Rum, told People.
“Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” the spokesperson continued. “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”
According to property records obtained by The Post, Kristin has shared a Rye, NH, address with Andrew since at least 2023.
A Facebook post believed to have been made in May 2024 showed Cabot wearing a massive wedding ring and smiling as she stood alongside Andrew and two young kids.
Meanwhile, court documents obtained by Daily Mail showed Kristin filed a divorce petition at a court in Portsmouth, NH, on Aug. 13.
Andrew’s second ex-wife, Julia Cabot, also told the outlet that Andrew told her he and Kristin were already separated before the Coldplay kiss-cam scandal.
“I texted Andrew right after [the kiss-cam scandal] happened, and he said: ‘Her life is nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating,” said Julia, who was married to Andrew for four years until they split in 2018.
According to Julia, her ex-husband isn’t “a nice person.”
“That’s why after it happened, I got loads of texts from people with that word: karma. It was like: What you give, you get,” she said.
“Personally, I don’t think he’s affected by what happened at all. I don’t think his feelings are hurt. He’s probably embarrassed, if anything.”
Following the Coldplay kiss-cam scandal, both Kristin, 52, and Byron, 50, resigned from their positions at Astronomer.
The two instantly went viral due to their extreme reactions after they were caught in a romantic embrace via a jumbotron camera at a Coldplay concert in Boston.
Once they realized they were on camera, Byron looked horrified and immediately ducked down, while Kristin turned away, clearly mortified.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked at the time, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
It was later revealed that Byron was married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Kristin had a husband of her own, Andrew.
Megan fled the duo’s $1.4 million home in Northborough, Mass., and was hiding out at their $2.4 million Maine mansion while holding crisis talks about her marriage, the Daily Mail reported in July.
