Bolivia have qualified for the World Cup playoffs on the final matchday of South American qualifying, keeping their dream of reaching the tournament for the first time in 32 years alive.

In a dramatic conclusion to the South American World Cup qualifiers, Bolivia secured a playoff berth, marking their closest step to the global stage since their last appearance in 1994. The emphatic result means that the nation will now compete in the intercontinental playoff, giving them a chance to end a three-decade-long absence from the world’s biggest football tournament.

For Venezuela, however, it was a night of heartbreak. Despite promising performances throughout the campaign, they fell just short of qualification, ending their hopes of making a long-awaited debut at the World Cup. Venezuelan players and fans alike were left devastated after the narrow miss.
