Brighton and Hove Albion Women’s goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, is basking in the euphoria of her first honour in the England women’s topflight after winning the Player of The Match award on her debut on Sunday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Nnadozie began life for her new club in brilliant fashion, as she kept a clean sheet and scooped the player of the match award, following her team’s goalless draw in their 2025/26 WSL opener against visiting Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old joined Brighton during the summer transfer window following her departure from French side Paris FC.

“To be honest, it’s a dream come true. I’ve been dreaming of playing in the WSL,” she said in a video shared by the club on X.

“Playing in it with this great team feels so special. It’s a day I’ll never forget.

“The fans really cheered me up. They said some good words and urged me to keep going.

“I hope we’ll keep getting better.”

Nnadozie had a busy afternoon on Sunday, but she came up big in the home fixture, as she produced four saves to deny the Villans and ensure her goal was not breached as Brighton earned a share of the spoils.

She also made 46 touches throughout the entire 90 minutes of the fixture, which saw her pick up the Player of the Match accolade in her very first official outing in the English women’s topflight division.

In all, the fixture between both sides was tightly contested, with either team creating limited clear-cut goalscoring opportunities.
