The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday that it carried out precision strikes on two high-rise buildings in Gaza City, which it said were being used by Hamas for intelligence gathering, observation, and planning attacks.

According to the IDF, the targeted buildings served as operational hubs for Hamas, facilitating intelligence activities and coordination of attacks against Israel. Military officials stated that the strikes were conducted with precision munitions and that civilians in the area were warned in advance to minimize casualties.

Footage released by the IDF appeared to show the controlled demolitions of the structures following the warnings. The military emphasized that the action was part of ongoing efforts to neutralize Hamas infrastructure while adhering to international law concerning the protection of civilians.

Palestinian sources confirmed the strikes but reported significant damage to surrounding areas. No immediate casualty figures were available.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas, with cross-border exchanges of fire intensifying over the past week. Regional and international actors have called for restraint to avoid a broader outbreak of hostilities.
