The President of the Nigerian Football Referees’ Association (NFRA), Hon. Alhaji Sani Zubiaru, has described the sudden death of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Referees’ Assessor Madam Rachael Enagbare as an irreparable loss to the refereeing community and the entire Nigerian football family.

Hon. Alhaji Sani Zubiaru (FIFA Referee Rtd) has expressed deep shock over the unexpected passing of Madam Rachael Enagbare, who served as a dedicated Referee Assessor during NPFL matches and was a respected member of the Edo State Football Referees’ Council. Enagbare died on Sunday in Lagos, where she was assessing the NPFL fixture between Ikorodu City and Barau FC. Reports indicate that she was taken to hospital following a sudden illness after the pre-match meeting, but sadly passed away that afternoon.

Zubiaru described Enagbare as a passionate, kindhearted, and loyal member who devoted much of her life to advancing football refereeing in Nigeria. Her absence, he said, will be keenly felt in all NFRA activities and among colleagues across the country.

He offered heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, the Egor Football Referees Society, the Edo State Football Referees’ Council, and the wider Nigerian sporting community, praying for her soul’s peaceful rest. The football community across Nigeria continues to mourn her passing, underscoring her exemplary service and the profound impact she made in the profession.
