Abia State Governor, Alex Otti on Tuesday, granted automatic employment to nine ex-corps members of Abia origin, who recently received presidential NYSC honour awards in their various states of service.

Otti granted the automatic employment while receiving in his office, the ex-Corps members led by the NYSC State Coordinator, Gladys Adama.

He directed the State Head of Service to issue them appointment letters with immediate effect.

“On behalf of the state government, you are going to leave here with a token. But beyond the token, I hereby temporarily lift the embargo on employment to employ the nine of you, except if any of you is not interested.

So, having lifted that embargo and having employed all of you, I also close the embargo.

“Honourable Attorney General, please communicate to the head of service that the nine of them should be given automatic employment. No interviews. They have already passed the interviews.

“So all you need to do is go and do your documentation and then you can start work on Monday,” Otti stated.

Otti, who appreciated them for their outstanding performance, charged them to continue to be outstanding in everything they do.

He equally thanked the State NYSC State Coordinator for the great work she is doing and for bringing them to him.

Responding on behalf of the ex-Corps members that were offered automatic employment, Nwogu Chinomso from Obingwa LGA and who served in Zamfara state, thanked Governor Otti for the recognition and appointment given to them. He promised that they would serve the state with all commitment.

“I am here to sincerely express our heartfelt gratitude to you, Your Excellency, for the recognition.

“Also, let me use this opportunity to commend your good work in the states. Your Excellency, you are a true leader.

You are the Joshua of our time. Our prayer is that Almighty God, give you the wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of this state in Jesus’ name. Amen, ” he stated.

Presenting the ex-Corps members, the NYSC State Coordinator, Gladys Adama said the ex-corps members made the state proud during their service year and were decorated by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of July this year.

I have come with these ones who have done Abia proud. Out of about a hundred and something, Your Excellency, Abia came first with nine of these ones.

“They have excelled themselves in their various places of primary assignment. As you have been told, Your Excellency, none of them served in Abia State. In fact, only one of them served in the east. Others served far away in the North.

The ex-corps members include those granted automatic employment including;

Nwogu chinonso, Anyanwụ Promise, Ezieme Francis Uba, Emmanuel Ogbenyealu Ezinne, Abia Chinwendu Grace, Nwafike Esther Chiemela, Ugwa Obinna Mark, Eke Lawrence Miracle and James Raphael chukwuebuka.
