Kano APC strongman and singer, Jadda Garko, has dropped a bombshell, accusing President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, of killing his chances of a federal appointment by lying to the President that he was already “dead and buried.”

At a fiery press conference in Kano on Monday, Garko dismissed rumours of defecting from the ruling party, declaring that his loyalty to Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda remains unshaken.

Garko said his political woes began after he openly demanded the rehabilitation of the Kaduna–Abuja expressway — a call that was ignored until opposition figure Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso made the same demand.

“Some have described my stance as fighting cabals because I advised the Minister of Works, David Umahi, to rehabilitate the Kaduna–Abuja expressway. Every Northerner who knows what is right ought to support that,” Garko said.

He argued that if the government had acted nine months ago, lives would have been saved and the project nearing completion today.

“Then, as proof that God is not unjust, Kwankwaso himself, though in the opposition, urged the Tinubu administration on the same project. Yet our government officials responded to him while my earlier calls were ignored,” he lamented.

The APC chieftain alleged that his name, which had been put forward for a federal appointment, was deliberately struck out at the Chief of Staff’s office because of his association with Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

“They told the President that I am already dead and buried. But the time will come when God willing, that we will meet the President at a public gathering and their bad envy will be exposed,” he declared.

Still, Garko insisted he has no regrets for backing Tinubu.

“We promoted Asiwaju with pure intentions. We have no regrets. Whether or not I have an appointment, I will continue to work as best I can,” he said.

He also warned of another simmering crisis in the North that, if ignored, could hand opponents a political weapon ahead of the next elections.

“My gaze has always been forward. My vision fixed on what lies ahead,” Garko stated, stressing that his support for Tinubu is not for personal gain.
