AI artist Xania Monet has reportedly signed a multimillion-dollar record deal, with bidding for her contract climbing above $3 million.

Xania Monet, an AI-generated R&B artist created by Mississippi designer and poet Telisha “Nikki” Jones, has made industry history this week after signing a lucrative record deal with Hallwood Media. Monet, whose music is produced using the generative platform Suno, sparked a bidding war among record label executives despite some major labels hesitating due to copyright concerns with Suno ultimately receiving offers in excess of $3 million before Hallwood secured the agreement.

Monet’s catalog is already making waves, debuting on several Billboard charts, including No. 25 on the Emerging Artists tally, No. 21 on Hot Gospel Songs, and No. 1 for R&B Digital Song Sales with the single “How Was I Supposed to Know”. Her songs have racked up over 9.8 million U.S. streams, with more than half of that figure coming just last week alone.

Manager Romel Murphy described Monet’s success as a blend of AI technology and personal storytelling, noting that most of her lyrics come from her own experiences and community. Hallwood Media’s major investment signals a new era for artificial intelligence in the music industry, as labels increasingly bet on digital creators driving future hits.
