The UK has announced £150 billion in new US investments as King Charles hosted former President Donald Trump, with deals from Blackstone, Palantir, and Prologis expected to create 7,600 jobs in defense, AI, data centers, and infrastructure. Notably, Boeing will build US Air Force planes in the UK for the first time in more than half a century.

During a landmark event attended by both King Charles and Donald Trump, the UK government revealed a portfolio of US-led investments totaling £150 billion, targeting cutting-edge sectors such as defense, artificial intelligence, and critical infrastructure. Blackstone took the lead with a £90 billion commitment, while Palantir pledged £1.5 billion and Prologis £3.9 billion.

These agreements are expected to create 7,600 new British jobs, marking a significant boost for the country’s economy and technology sector. A centerpiece of the announcement is Boeing’s new contract, which will see the firm produce US Air Force aircraft in Britain, a development not seen in over 50 years.

Groundwork for the construction is already underway, with Boeing UK’s involvement in major projects such as the E-7 Wedgetail early warning aircraft, which is currently in advanced stages of production and testing for the Royal Air Force at Birmingham Airport. Industry insiders note this marks the first time since the 1970s that US military planes will be built on British soil, reflecting both the depth of transatlantic cooperation and renewed trust in UK aerospace capabilities.

The jobs and capital influx extend to high priority areas including next-generation AI development, advanced defense technologies, and the construction of new data centers, with further investments slated to strengthen both British-US security partnerships and local economies.
