Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been robbed of half a year in office, according to veteran Nollywood Actor and Lawyer, Kenneth Okonkwo, who challenges the governor to fight back.

The ADC chieftain insists Fubara must drag the case to court to reclaim the six months lost during President Bola Tinubu’s emergency rule, warning his tenure must legally run till November 29, 2027, not May 29.

“Now his six months have been illegally, brutally, without reason, taken away from him. That means you have denied the Rivers people the four years that the constitution gave them the power to be served by a governor,” Okonkwo thundered.

The legal firebrand declared Fubara’s mandate sacrosanct, citing Supreme Court rulings, and told Rivers people they deserve every single day of the governor’s four-year term.

Tinubu had suspended Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and state lawmakers amid a bitter war with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Speaker Martin Amaewhule.

Consequently, Vice Admiral Ikot Ibas, a retired naval officer was installed to run Rivers.

But with the emergency lifted, Okonkwo is daring Fubara to fight for his stolen mandate, which he believes can be reclaimed in the courtroom.
