Nigerian media personality and former reality TV star, Uti Nwachukwu, popularly known as Sir Uti, has shared his thoughts on the recent disqualification of Big Brother Naija housemate, Faith.

On his X handle on Thursday, he spoke about labeling the instigator of a conflict as a victim.

He claimed that such behaviour could be narcissistic and dangerous.

Faith was disqualified on Thursday following a heated altercation with fellow housemate Sultana, a confrontation that stirred widespread reaction both inside and outside the house.

Could she have acted better? Yes! Could he have handled it better? Yes!. A trigger is just as grave as a reaction. It is incredibly narcissistic to label the one who triggered/created/fueled the situation a victim and then label the one who reacted (without hitting the other) – an Abuser. This is not defending anyone. It’s analysing what we all watched live—not internet clips. Learn the lessons and dead sentiments – this is 2025, let’s be guided,” he stated.

Uti Nwachukwu, a past winner of Big Brother Africa and a longtime commentator on BBNaija, weighed in to offer a more nuanced take. Rather than taking sides, he questioned the tendency to label those who provoke conflict as victims while condemning those who react, even without resorting to violence.

The show’s rule book, in Article 18, subsection one, explicitly forbids all forms of violence, including physical aggression, provocation, goading, bullying, and victimisation.

PUNCH Online recalls that ex-housemates, Erica, Beauty and Tacha all faced similar disciplinary action.

In 2019, Tacha was disqualified after a fight with Mercy. Big Brother found her guilty of pushing, shoving and pulling Mercy’s hair on two occasions, describing the act as violence and intent to harm.

Mercy, in turn, received two strikes for provocation after flicking her hair on Tacha and failing to de-escalate the situation.

In 2020, Erica was sent packing after a string of infringements, including denying the Deputy Head of House access to the lounge, peeping through the windows, insulting housemates, and goading fellow contestants.
