Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Ange Postecoglou following a miserable run of eight matches without a win.
The decision was confirmed in a statement released by the club on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after their 3–0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.
“The Club will make no further comment at this time,” the statement read.
Postecoglou’s brief spell at the City Ground yielded no victories — with six defeats, including a heartbreaking Carabao Cup exit to Swansea City, where Forest blew a 2–1 lead in stoppage time to lose 3–2.
The team’s only glimmers of hope came in hard-fought draws against Burnley in the Premier League and Real Betis in the Europa League.
