There was excitement at the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretariat in Umuahia on Thursday as Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu (KSJI), former Abia State Chief of Staff, arrived for a high-level meeting with members of the State Working Committee (SWC).
Party executives turned out in large numbers to welcome Kalu, whose visit is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity and reposition the APC ahead of future political engagements in the state.
Addressing the executives, Kalu said his visit was both a courtesy call and a show of commitment to the party’s progress.
“I came to officially greet our hardworking State Working Committee and to let you know that I am available for any assignment the party may deem fit for me. You can be rest assured that I am ready and capable,” he said.
While commending Kalu’s thoughtful visit, which shows he is truly a party chhieftain, the APC State Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, called for unity of purpose among party members, noting that the APC has what it takes to take over Abia State in 2027.
“We must be intentional and determined that enough is enough, and we want to govern this state. We have the capacity to produce a better result,” he declared.
Dr. Ononogbu also praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a courageous leader who has demonstrated the will and capacity to make tough decisions for the good of the nation.
