It was a moment of joy and gratitude on Sunday as Mascot Uzor Kalu, former Abia Chief of Staff and 2027 governorship hopeful under the All Progressives Congress (APC), attended a thanksgiving service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Okposi, Igbere, his hometown.
The service came shortly after Kalu’s successful declaration of his ambition to contest the Abia governorship election, which was held on Saturday at the Abia Progressive Forum Secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital.
Accompanied by his family, political associates, and well-wishers, Kalu knelt before the altar to thank God for what he described as a smooth and promising beginning to his 2027 journey.
He pledged to run a transparent, people-oriented government focused on grassroots development and accountability if given the mandate.
The parish priest, Rev Father Cornelius Chibuike, during the special intercessory prayers, asked God to grant Kalu wisdom, strength, and divine direction as he steps into a defining political race for Abia’s future.
