The National Youth Service Corps has cautioned corps members participating as ad-hoc staff in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election to maintain strict political neutrality, discipline, and professionalism throughout the electoral process.

The State Coordinator, Pauline Ojisua, gave the warning during a sensitisation programme held for corps members in Awka on Tuesday, ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election.

The event, which took place at St. John of God Secondary School, Awka, brought together corps members from Awka South, Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Awka North local government areas.

Representatives of partner agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and DSS, were also in attendance.

Addressing the corps members, Ojisua reminded them that the NYSC-INEC partnership was built on trust and integrity, stressing that they must conduct themselves as impartial and patriotic ambassadors of the Scheme.

You are apolitical and must not wear, display, or associate with any party symbol, slogan, or candidate. Avoid political discussions, inducements, or any action that could compromise your neutrality.

“We advised the corps members to prioritise personal safety, avoid unnecessary movements, and report any security threat promptly to the appropriate authorities.
