Panic is spreading across West and Central Africa after the Chadian government shut its borders with Nigeria, in what is a direct fallout of Donald Trump’s threat of military invasion.

Last Friday, October 31, the former U.S. President declared Nigeria a “Country of Particular Interest,” claiming there was an ongoing Christian genocide, and ordered America’s Department of War to prepare for possible action.

Now, Chad is taking no chances, as Security and counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, revealed on X that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has imposed a “complete military lockdown” along the Nigerian border.

“Military sources in N’Djamena confirmed on Monday that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a complete military lockdown along the Nigerian border after intelligence suggested that terrorist elements from northern Nigeria were preparing to flee into Chadian territory,” Makama wrote.

Chadian forces have been placed on full alert — armoured vehicles, troops, and heavy artillery now line major crossing points between the two nations.

President Déby was quoted as warning that “no armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise.”

The move, insiders say, is a preemptive strike to protect Chad’s sovereignty amid swirling rumours of U.S. military activity across parts of West Africa.

Analysts believe N’Djamena’s reaction signals deep regional anxiety over the possible fallout of Washington’s aggressive posture.

“This isn’t just about Nigeria anymore,” one analyst warned. “A single U.S. strike could ignite a chain reaction across the Sahel.”

For now, Chad’s border is sealed tight — and the entire region watches nervously, unsure of what Trump’s next move will be.
